Cubs Den has been in effect since 1998. The program is in conjunction
with the District's High School Family and Consumer Science course,
Child Development. As part of the course, Junior and Senior level
students plan and implement an informal preschool program
under Mrs. Kristen Vassar's supervision. The thematic curriculum
focuses on physical, social-emotional and cognitive development. Cubs
Den provides a safe, comfortable and enriched learning environment
for children to practice new skills targeting Pennsylvania's Early Learning
Standards.

Children may be enrolled in Cubs Den starting at ages three to three-and-a-half. If the child falls into this age category, they will be placed in the Spring a.m. class. Children ages four to five will be signed up for either the Fall or Spring p.m. class. Each child must be toilet trained and residing in the Greensburg Salem School District. Morning preschool will begin at 9:20 and end at 11:20. Afternoon preschool will begin at 12:15 and end at 2:15. If you are interested in the program, please fill out the application and send to Kristen Vassar at Greensburg Salem High School, 65 Mennel Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601.
